Irony: Why do some people come to the ER for a hangnail, yet others are dragged in about to code? Oh, and don't forget the antibiotic Rx wasn't even filled, yet the dog buried the Lortabs in the backyard.

Due to HIPPA, the entries on this blog will be written in such a way that even if I wrote about you, you wouldn't know it was you! I'll also include composite characters, funny or useful things I have heard and learned from other health care providers, nurses as well as others. Sometimes I'll even make up a patient for the purpose of illustrating a point that is worth discussion. And, sometimes I'll post a question of the day, geared towards different people at different times, such as student nurse, experienced nurse, patient's view, etc. Other posts will be...who knows! Wait and see. Oh and don't forget TV shows! Those are great for posting material, no need to worry about HIPPA there! Oh yes, due to HIPPA - "today" may mean last year, may mean it happened to someone who told me about it, etc. TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED :-)
